I've taken a few more pictures of my classroom to share. This one is a picture of the alphabet on our wall. I've had it so long I don't remember what website I printed it from, but I love it. The website allowed me to choose the colors for each letter and the pictures as well. All I had to do was print it, laminate it and hang it up! It still looks great several years later.

Here's a picture of the center tags I created for our class this year. Each group has an owl with their number on it that they stick to the tag of whatever center they want to play in. They know that if there is already another owl hanging there, the center is full and they have to choose something else.

This is just a pic of a painting the class did. The kids LOVE to paint :)

Here are some close-up pictures of the family drawings the kids did. We have been talking about our families this week. Some of them are really great artists!! (Much better than me!)

Last week we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and the kids created their own palm trees. How cute are these??

We've also been talking about our favorite things. We made a bar graph of our favorite colors, and as you can see purple was by far the most popular choice! We have a lot of girls in our class this year!

Start of the school year

Well we are now in the middle of our second week of VPK. Everything is going well so far! We have 31 kids this year (crazy, right?!) but they have all been very well behaved so far! We did an owl theme for our class this year because I have recently become obsessed with all the cute owl things available on TPT lately :) 

This is a picture from our class. I got the idea from pinterest of course!! It was so easy. I just laminated some cute paper and attached clothespins so that we could easily hang the kid's artwork. I attached a label to each clothespin with their names on them.  We have gotten so many compliments on this!!

This is our "owl star behavior" chart which I also got from Teacherspayteachers. I absolutely love that website!!

I hope everyone else is off to a great start in their classroom as well!! I'll post some more pictures tomorrow :)

Ready for School

We are FINALLY ready for the first day of VPK on Monday. My co-teacher and I have been working hard for weeks to get ready and we are finally done :)  I will post some pictures this weekend, our room is looking great!! I have also been working hard on some products for Teacherspayteachers. Here's a pic of the product I just finished.

New TPT product

Here's another picture from my classroom. This is the birthday board I recently made :) If you can't see all the letters it says, "Look whoo's having a birthday!" I will write each child's name and birthday on an individual owl.
